Why is sword A doing more damage than sword B

Sword A:
Long Sword
Slashing 11-17 (req. 5 swordsmanship)
Armor +8 vs Dwarfs
+20% damage

Sword B:
Long Sword
Slashing Dmg 14-20 (req. 7 swordsmanship)
Dmg +3 vs giants
+20% damage

My current swordsmanship is 9
Doesn't seem to matter what kind of creature I'm attacking ... sword A always does more damage.

Possible things I can think of:

1) You were being enchanted by a spell (eg, Judge's Insight) when using the weaker
2) You were attacking a target with higher defense with the stronger one
3) One target was hexed by Weaken Armour (-20 Armour) when you had the weaker one in effect
4) Attacking a creature of a lower level with the weaker sword

Just to make sure, there are no elemental hilts on either one?

I've been testing the two swords throughout the day on all kinds of creatures, under all kinds of conditions.

Whether there are hexes/enchantments involved or not, it's always the same .. sword A hits harder .. and I don't understand why.

Neither of the swords have any modifications or anything.
The stats I posted is all there is to them.
(except that they're both customized and therefore have the +20%)

Don't you do more damage with a weapon if your skill is higher than the req of the weapon ? So as sword A has a lower req than sword B you get a bigger bonus ?

Go to ascalon. Take wild blow, which will always do the exact same amount of damage. Take notes as to how much the first sword does with wild bow vs. a gargoyle, then the second sword with wild blow.
